All over Dublin, mothers are excitedly looking forward to seeing their loved ones return home for Christmas. But Agnes Brown is depressed. Her son Trevor is on the missions in Canada, and can't possibly afford to make it back. With Maria's posh mum Hillary pressing the newlyweds to spend Christmas at her place, Agnes decides to compete for their love by providing an even more lavish Christmas celebration than Hillary's - even if Buster is having trouble delivering the turkey.

With the festive season fast approaching, Agnes Brown finds herself facing her busiest Christmas yet. Spiritual son Trevor is visiting from the missions, grandson Bono is sleeping over on Christmas Eve, and there are three new faces to feed on Christmas Day now that Agnes's youngest son Dermot is the father of triplets. Visiting, priest Father Damien announces that the Finglas Nativity play has been cancelled. Agnes vows to stage a Nativity play of her own in the local community centre. She meets stiff resistance from Father Damien, who is wary of meddling mothers like Agnes and refuses to ask permission from the Bishop. Cathy is furious when she discovers that Agnes has been reading her mail and decides to play a prank on her interfering mother. Convinced that she has been entered into a 'Best Christmas Mother' competition, Agnes starts being unusually nice to everyone...

Agnes Brown has finally been given permission to stage her own Nativity play and is determined to put on the greatest show on Earth. The only thing standing in her way now is local priest Father Damien, who is insisting that Agnes makes some last-minute changes to her rather unusual script. Will Agnes ever get to play the Virgin Mary?

Agnes is well-pleased with her state of the art remote-controlled Christmas tree - though less so with Buster's exploding crackers. She reluctantly agrees to help Mark and Betty by finding out what their son Bono wants from Santa before hosting the family's pre-Christmas party, which makes her very cross when nobody - especially Hillary - will play by the rules in her party games, as usual. Grandad's charades contribution turns out to be a mild heart attack but, after the guests have gone, he still has fun at Agnes's expense with the Christmas tree. Agnes resorts to desperate measures to discover what Bono wants from Santa - whose visit is not what she expected. However the whole family comes together for their Christmas Day musical finale.

Agnes prepares for her New Year's Eve party although half the guests have reasons for not coming to it. She is also perturbed that Mark and Betty want to send Bono to the very rough local school and is somewhat harassed when stern Father McBride persuades her to look after a parrot that belonged to Maria's recently deceased auntie. After having a mishap with some aerosol glue which she mistook for deodorant and accidentally bringing on Dino's food allergy Agnes learns that the parrot was living in a house of ill repute not unknown to Father McBride, a fact which comes...

Winnie drops a Christmas bombshell. Maybe her unusual new Christmas tree will bring Agnes some festive cheer?

After a spate of burglaries in Finglas, Agnes asks Buster Brady to fit a new alarm system.

Mark and Betty fight over the reappearance of his first love, carol singers haunt Agnes, and Buster installs a new Christmas tree.

When a handsome stranger appears in Foley's Pub, everyone presumes he must be after Cathy. But the stranger reveals he only has eyes for one special woman: Agnes Brown herself. Will Agnes go on her first date in years? And if she does, who's in for the bigger surprise: Agnes Brown, or the stranger?

Dressed as a penguin to promote frozen foods Dermot considers sacking Buster from the campaign for not pulling his weight whilst Rory has the chance to buy his own hair salon and Father Damien asks Agnes to help him with the local boy scouts, leading to her wearing scout's uniform in the pub. However Agnes is chiefly concerned about Mark and Betty, wrongly believing they have a sexual problem when in fact they are arguing about a new bed. Things eventually come right but not necessarily due to Agnes's meddling in this live broadcast of the show.

Agnes's Christmas may not be a happy one with Grandad unwell, Rory's salon catching fire - requiring a pop-up hairdressers in Agnes's front room - and Buster and Dermot facing opposition for a pet shop contract from a rival team of advertisers. Furthermore she is determined not to have a Christmas tree - as it is dangerous. However when Christmas comes round Grandad makes a miracle recovery, thanks to an accident to Agnes due to a forest of Christmas trees supplied by Buster, who has also secured the contract. Everybody gathers in the pub to celebrate with a quiz and a karaoke.

Cathy has a new, French boyfriend. He doesn't make the best first impression, which might be an issue if he is to survive meeting Mrs Brown.

Grandad is convinced that the house is haunted.Cathy has a new internet date, Agnes has been given a special Christmas tree to cheer her up and Rory has had plastic surgery.

When a crime wave hits Finglas, Father Damien and Maria put together a neighbourhood watch scheme.

It's the festive season in the Brown household and Father Damian has organised a Christmas decoration contest. Agnes can't figure out how to use a gift from Buster. Cathy is up for promotion and Buster has a date.

There's a storm blowing in Finglas and it soon claims its first victim when the pipes in Winnie and Sharon's house burst.

Agnes's world is turned upside down when an angel arrives in Finglas and grants her a wish to see what life would be like if she had never been born.

Everyone in the Brown household is concerned at the news that the poisoner Peggy Piper has been released from prison, Winnie especially.

The new year starts badly when Winnie's place is burgled and her mother's much-loved wedding ring is missing. Meanwhile, Cathy is worried about her impending birthday.

It's Halloween in Finglas, and everyone is getting into the spooky spirit of things. Agnes is ready for the trick or treaters, but she gets more than she bargained for when she receives a surprising visitor from her past.

It's Christmas time in Finglas. Agnes is in charge of the choir, and Buster and Dermot organise a murder mystery night. What could possibly go wrong?

The Browns get a visit from Uncle Micky, who is fresh out of prison with a new scam up his sleeve. Meanwhile, Winnie tries to liven up her life with some daredevil stunts.

It's Christmas in Finglas once again, and this year Cathy has a new boyfriend, Boris. A last-minute change of plans leaves Agnes babysitting the widower's twins while he and Cathy head to Foley's for a quiet, romantic drink. Not everyone is convinced he's right for Cathy, and there are even suspicions that he might be a vampire. But it's not Boris that Agnes is worried about; she has her own concerns over his creepy twins.

Suspicion surrounds Cathy's creepy boyfriend, Boris. Buster and Dermot are convinced he is a vampire and hatch a plan to save Cathy, which leaves her mortified. Sharon has boyfriend troubles of her own, and Father Damien has been called away to tend to some depressed chickens. Meanwhile, Buster convinces Agnes she should have her antique vase valued. Who knows how much it could be worth? After all, it has been handed down through generations, and she plans to leave it to Cathy as her inheritance.

All Mrs Brown wants is a nice, peaceful Christmas, but the family have other ideas! Cathy's decided to cook Christmas dinner for the first time ever, a sentimental decoration has gone missing, and there's a surprise dinner guest, all of which have the potential to ruin Agnes's quiet Christmas.

Mrs Brown and the gang start the new year by attempting a tough new health and fitness regime. New year, new Agnes! But while Maria and Cathy work hard to get the gang into shape, a mysterious visitor to Finglas raises some difficult questions about Agnes and Winne’s past.
