On a road trip to Atlanta for Pat's big show, the family gets derailed, landing them in a resort where they find that trying to be woke means it's time to wake up.

The family arrives in Atlanta to find that Mildred's old house is opulent and different; Trina's mother, Tanya, has been released from prison and it's time to go on a walk down memory lane.

When Elizabeth asks Pat and Denise to join her at a motivational speaker's event, they discover more than they bargained for; Janelle and Junebug get jobs to find that they may be selling more than what's on the menu.

Denise lands Pat a starring role in a new movie with a big-time director, but the film may be a little more adult than expected, even by Pat's standards.

It's a celebration as Janelle has graduated and a big college send-off party is held in her honor; the send-off may turn out to be for somebody else.
